Jesse Ferguson from Connect Exercise Physiology recently became the 100th financial member of the Woombye Community & Business Association (WCBA).

Jesse’s membership was announced at the August meeting after he was introduced to the association by Nathan Spring.

Nathan is himself a long-time member of the WCBA with two Woombye businesses, The Local Gym Woombye and TLGW Pilates (phone 0422 204 562 www.thelocalgym.com.au). Phone Jesse Ferguson at Connect Exercise Physiology on 0432 551 652 www.connectep.com.au.

Membership with the WCBA costs $20 a year. Business owners, whether they are in Blackall Street or locally home-based, receive a free business directory listing on the website, www.woombye.com.au. The directory also includes details of over 20 local sporting clubs and community groups.

“We encourage local businesses to join the WCBA to help build a strong local network, we encourage locals to check out the directory and support local,” said Vice President Grant Palethorpe.

“Membership isn’t just for business owners, it’s an opportunity for local community members to get together at events such as the one at Sunshine & Sons distillery earlier in the year.”

Membership in the WCBA has continued to soar over the last 18 months, this coincided with the re-release of the website and a greater presence on social media.

The committee has engaged with State MP Rob Skelton regarding rail duplication and a walking path between Woombye and the Big Pineapple.

Likewise, frequent contact with Cr Johnston is made to address local opportunities for Woombye and the surrounding district.

The organisation has grown into a respected organisation at the heart of community activity.

To find out more contact the WCBA via admin@woombye.com.au. To  join the WCBA go to www.woombye.com.au to join and pay online.
